How
This Chapter Got Started
I'd read about the Red Hat Society in the
newspaper, and had visited the official website and thought, what a
great idea, sounds
like fun! Then during the Christmas season
of 2003, sister Deb and I visited the Christmas in Seattle Show at the
Washington State Convention Center, an annual event for my birthday. At
the show we saw a number of Red Hats, apparently some Chapters had come
on a bus. Then, we found a vendor selling red hats. As I was
trying on my first red hat, another lady asked me "where would you wear
a hat like that?", and I answered, "anywhere I want!" She pointed at me
and said, "That's the right attitude!" Then and there we decided to
start our own chapter.

The Lynnwood Red Hat Flashes is
a place where there is fun after fifty (and before) for women of all
walks of life. We believe silliness is the comedy relief of life and,
since we are all in it together, we might as well join red-gloved hands
and go for the gusto together. Underneath the frivolity, we share a
bond of affection, forged by common life experiences and a genuine
enthusiasm for wherever life takes us next.
