We arrived in our finery at Third Place Books to be welcomed Penny Sadis, Queen of the Royal Jewels of Elan, Edmonds WA. Penny was a wonderful Mistress of Ceremonies, and deserves our heartfelt thanks for all of the work done by herself and her Chapter to put on this event. The estimated count was 160 Red Hatters! We had a wonderful time seeing all of the fabulous hats, glittering jewels, and sparkling outfits. What a gorgeous bunch of gals! We enjoyed a scrumptious tea courtesy of the Honey Bear Cafe, and were treated to a lesson in Fine Napkin Folding. Excerpts were read from a number of publications, including Red Hat Society Founding Queen Mother Sue Ellen Cooper's new book, "The Red Hat Society - Fun and Friendship After Fifty". We had a great time! |

Waiting my turn at the microphone, where I lead the whole group in a rousing rendition of "Happy Birthday" to our own Queen Mum Chick, celebrating her 80th birthday on the 26th! |
